What hand luggage can I take when flying with Brussels Airlines?

Each passenger aged 2 years and older is allowed to bring 1 piece of hand luggage and 1 personal item:

  • Maximum weight: 8 kg combined for both items
  • Maximum dimensions for hand luggage: 55 x 40 x 23 cm, including handles and wheels
  • Maximum dimensions for personal item: 40 x 10 x 30 cm, including handles and wheels
A handbag, laptop bag, or camera bag qualifies as a personal item

On busy flights, it may happen that hand luggage is taken at the gate and transported in the aircraft hold free of charge. You can collect your luggage at the baggage carousel after your flight.
If your bag needs to go into the hold, you may remove any valuables, documents, electronics, or medication. We recommend placing these items in a separate small bag at home so you can easily keep them with you during the flight.
Please ensure that you or your fellow passengers do not bring more hand luggage items than allowed. Excess hand luggage is not permitted onboard. Hand luggage cannot be combined with your checked baggage allowance.
Cabin luggage can always be checked in free of charge at the check-in desk, provided it meets the size and weight requirements.

How much hand luggage can I bring for my baby?
A baby under the age of 2 who travels on your lap is not entitled to their own hand luggage. If you wish to bring baby food, a diaper bag, or other baby necessities into the cabin, please pack these in your own hand luggage.
You are allowed to bring a foldable stroller up to the gate. It will be collected at the gate and transported in the aircraft hold.
